Here we visit the wider region, looking at fresh approaches – through archives, digital mapping measure, and excavations – into the 4th and 3rd millennium regional site patterning. Specifically under discussion will be the results from work at Cemeteries NT and NG at Nubt, the cemetery at Manshiya (Khattara 3), as well new research into the Old Kingdom in the region, including the regional step pyramid of Nubt in its wider context. The site management strategy for Nubt will be briefly presented too.

Talk: Naqada and Nubt in the 21st Century: Re-evaluating Prehistoric & Historic Contexts in the Archive & the Field with Dr Joanne RowlandDate: Sunday 2 August 15.00Location: Online on Zoom Tickets Members: Free for full and online members.
