Manon Y Schutz

Manon D Schutz is currently a third year DPhil in Oriental Studies (Egyptology) candidate at the University of Oxford and is writing her thesis on the topic of beds in the funerary context of Ancient Egypt from Predynastic times to the Roman Period. In her MA thesis, which she completed at the University of Trier (Germany) as well as in her Master of Studies thesis at the University of Oxford, she was analysing coffins — one anthropomorphic coffin and a mummy bed, to be precise — from the Roman Period. Besides her studies, she was also involved in the publication and exhibition of the Egyptian collection housed at the Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art in Luxembourg. Manon also volunteers at the Griffith Institute and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.
